Food

Creating opportunities for widows to provide for themselves and the orphans they care for is a critical step in rebuilding the lives of these women. Over the past few years, two significant milestones toward creating self-sustaining sources of food and nutrition have been accomplished:

  1. The purchase of 11.5 acres of land for the widows to cultivate - Read Widows’ Land Story

  2. The purchase of several dairy cows for the widows to share

Fish Pond

The widows land is thriving. The next step for this piece of land is to install a fish pond for an additional source of food. This pond will require fencing and a guard house to protect it.

Cows

Several cows have been donated that provide a life-giving source of food for the widows and orphans. The widows take care of the cows and many of the cows were pregnant when they were purchased so the widows were able to give the cows to other needy families.
